San Pietro di Sorres, March 1-2 and April 11-12, 2025

The journey continues toward the recognition of the Domus de Janas and other extraordinary prehistoric monuments of Sardinia as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The candidacy, officially accepted and currently under evaluation, is expected to receive a final decision by July 2025.

Within this important cultural and identity-building initiative, on March 1-2 and again on April 11-12, 2025, the town of San Pietro di Sorres will host the official presentation of “The Path of the Janas” - a project that celebrates and promotes Sardinia’s archaeological heritage, intertwining memory, landscape, and community.

The event includes activities for both the press and the public:

Educational tour for the press, exploring the fascinating Domus de Janas of Mandra Antine and the Petroglyph Park of Cheremule

Night walk in Borutta, open to the public, offering an immersive experience in the mystical atmosphere of the Sardinian landscape

Special visit to the Museum of Bessude, showcasing invaluable testimonies of prehistoric civilization

“The Path of the Janas” is more than a cultural itinerary: it is an invitation to rediscover Sardinia’s deep-rooted heritage, in a region committed to protecting and enhancing its ancient past while looking toward the future.

A must-see experience to witness the magic of Sardinia’s prehistory and support an internationally significant project.
