Alguer.it explores the progress of Unesco recognition for the Domus de Janas.
An article on Alguer.it addresses the topic of the nomination of the Domus de Janas as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Alguer.it portal dedicates an insight to the candidacy journey of Sardinia’s Domus de Janas for recognition as a UNESCO world heritage site. During a meeting in Alghero with Mayor Mario Conoci and other project representatives, the progress of the process supported by the Center for Identity and Memory Studies (CeSim) and the network of the Domus de Janas municipalities, involving 62 Sardinian towns, were discussed. Thanks also to the favorable opinion of the Ministry of Culture and the inclusion in the UNESCO Tentative list, this ambitious project, which aims for the first time to gain recognition for Italian prehistoric monuments, represents an important milestone for the enhancement of Sardinian cultural heritage. A conference scheduled in Sassari will follow the developments of this important initiative.
