The Domus de Janas in the running for recognition as a UNESCO heritage site

Cagliaripad.it publishes an in-depth report on the candidacy of the Domus de Janas, the ancient necropolises of Sardinia, for recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Network of Municipalities of Sardinia, together with numerous academic partners and with financial support from the Region, leads this ambitious project with Alghero at the helm. With the positive opinion of the Ministry of Culture and the inclusion of the sites in the UNESCO “Tentative lists,” the goal is to obtain the first recognition for Italian prehistoric monuments. A conference is scheduled in Sassari to discuss the progress of the initiative.
