An article from La Nuova Sardegna focuses on the advancement of the Domus de Janas' candidacy as a UNESCO world heritage site.
La Nuova Sardegna has dedicated an article to the significant progress made towards the recognition of the Domus de Janas as a UNESCO site. The municipality of Alghero leads the Network of Sardinian municipalities involved in the nomination, supported by a recent council resolution which establishes collaboration between the Municipality, the Region, and CESIM (Center for Identity and Memory Studies). The project, already approved by the Ministry of Culture, is on the Italian proposed list waiting for the next step in the Tentative List in Paris, which includes 35 prehistoric sites scattered throughout the island, from Alghero to Villanova Monteleone and beyond. The article emphasizes the importance of regional financial support for the creation of a technical-scientific dossier aimed at claiming the universal value of these ancient burials.
