On February 7, 2024, the Videolina news reported a key moment for the UNESCO candidacy of the Domus de Janas: the Italian National Commission has given the green light, and now the decision moves to the World Heritage Committee, which will meet in Paris. The dossier includes 26 monuments scattered throughout Sardinia, representing a unique millennia-old civilization in the world.

The project is supported by the Region and the Network of Municipalities of the Domus de Janas, which today counts 37 administrations, with Alghero leading the way. Among the leading monuments are also the necropolis of Brodu in Oniferi and Su Crucifissu Mannu in Porto Torres. A journey that has united archaeology, identity, and territorial cooperation, and that has also received praise from the Minister of Culture. The Domus de Janas, monuments of life, death, and religion, are getting closer to recognition as a World Heritage Site.
