Domus de Janas: towards UNESCO, Sardinia dreams big!
Unionesarda.it lets us know that the Domus de Janas of Sardinia are taking a decisive step towards recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the official dossier now under examination in Paris.
Unionesarda.it has published an article that tells about the significant progress of the candidacy of the Domus de Janas of Sardinia for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage list. After the candidacy was approved by the National Commission, the dossier was sent to Paris for the final evaluation by the UN Agency for Culture.
The project, led by the CESIM - Center for Studies on Identity and Memory and supported by the Sardinia Region along with the Network of Municipalities of the Domus de Janas, involves 37 administrations with Alghero as the leader.
The Minister of Culture Sangiuliano and the president of CESIM Giuseppa Tanda expressed satisfaction for the milestone achieved, the result of collaboration between institutions, universities, local authorities, and associations. The wait is now for the final verdict expected in the early months of 2025.
